Faber Stand By His Vote in House Committee

Patrick Faber

Patrick Faber also had his say in the house on the debate. And if there were any questions as to where Faber’s allegiance lies, he contended that he will always be a U.D.P. He stood by his position on the matter but says his party leader is not entirely wrong.

Patrick Faber, Area Representative, Collet

“I hold firm to what I have said in my letter of correspondence to the committee that dealt with this matter because I hold firm to my belief. I will tell you that the leader of the opposition is not wrong. I have some concerns about some of the things that happen in here as how the speaker rules as well. But as many of us have said in here it is improper for us to talk like that in here. In fact there is a proper way of registering that complaint. So it is out of no ill will or malice that I wrote my position to the committee and I stand firm with what I have said. But I also wish to place on record what my other colleagues have said because they fail to highlight those members on the other side using my letter to make their point, there is a section of my letter that says it is crucial to uphold the principle that every office and position especially within our esteemed institution uphold the utmost respect.”

As you heard, the Leader of the Opposition called for a division on the motion to adopt the committee’s report. Nineteen members voted in favor of adopting the motion, two voted against, while Area Representatives Patrick Faber and Tracey Panton abstained.
