Shyne Says Protestors Were Expressing Their Frustration

We caught Leader of the Opposition, Moses Shyne Barrow outside of the Assembly Building and asked him for his thoughts on the behavior of protestors this morning. He says that while he doesn’t condone any kind of violence against police officers, protestors were simply expressing their frustration.

“I came out and I said my greetings to people and people were exercising their frustrations and I tried to signal to them to hold it down. But, protestors have a right to protest. I can’t tell them how to express their frustration. I would hope they would do it in a peaceful manner. I advocate, you never saw me condoning that exercise of their frustration. I said they are frustrated and listed the reasons why they are frustrated but I am not or encourage such behavior. It was a robust turnout, what we wanted. The people came out and expressed their frustration. The Social Security thing is very disturbing. I will get back inside and raise it on adjournment. It is very disturbing what they are doing.”
