“This project was fully supported by the council and the liquor licensing board, whose members are present here this morning, as its ultimate goal is to support A-TIPS in reducing human trafficking, whether in the form of labor exploitation or sexual exploitation within our borders. As a burgeoning capital city that is growing quicker than you can really say the word development, we recognize how important it is to protect those who are most vulnerable to human trafficking. With access to the information collected from this initiative, we have a better visual representation of what exists within our municipality to improve our ability and potential to keep track of businesses for increased law enforcement, for easier identification of vulnerable locations, so we reduce persons at risk of being victims of human trafficking.”
