Murder Trial of Marlon Everett Concludes
Marlon Everett, accused of the murder of Albert Johnson in April 2018, appeared in the High Court today where the trial against him concluded before Justice Nanto. Earlier today, Senior Crown Counsel Sheneiza Smith closed her case after calling on thirteen witnesses, including a main witness who was only fourteen years old at the time of the incident. But Smith’s witness was treated as a hostile witness two weeks ago when he took the stand and did not cooperate with the Crown. In fact, the Crown’s main witness initially refused to testify in the murder trial, providing a statement that was contrary to what was previously given to police. In his defense, Marlon Everett told the court that he was at home with his wife when he heard the shooting because he resided in the Rocky Road area, not far from where Johnson was killed. Everett is being represented by attorney Bryan Neal.
