Yemeri Grove Wants Greg Ch’oc Out of Their Boundary Dispute Mediation
And, Yemeri Grove Village leaders want Greg Ch’oc gone as the Commissioner of Indigenous People’s Affairs, at least when it comes to their boundary dispute. Arden Edwards says the mediation process has been unfair. He is requesting that a more neutral party be included in the discussion.
Arden Edwards, Former Village Councilor, Yemeri Grove
“We have what we call the Indigenous Maya Lands Commission which is representative the person who is running that ministry is Mr. Greg Choc. But, for some reason all the villagers of Yemeri Grove is not comfortable with Mr. Greg Choc mediating. What we want for this particular issue here. The government could keep Greg Choc as the indigenous land commissioner when it comes to Laguna and Yemeri Grove they need a neutral person to mediate this process.”
