Man injured in explosion released from hospital
And in an update to the explosion late Thursday afternoon at the Tourism Village, there is some good news to report as the boat captain, Shawn Rosado, who was injured in the explosion, has been released from the hospital. On Thursday around four-twenty, ‘the Wolf’—a boat belonging to Caye Caulker Water Taxi—combusted while it was being refueled at the gas pump at the Fort Street Tourism Village. It is known that fumes from the fuel ignited causing two explosions that flung Rosado ten feet in the air and ripped the boat’s console from its place. The explosions caused bystanders to scuttle and the impact flung other boatmen into the water. Rosado was knocked unconscious and was transported to the K.H.M.H. were he was treated for injuries to his leg. Today, he was released from the hospital.
