Jordan Waight is Gunned Down in Gungulung

Twenty-four-year-old Jordan Waight, who also went by the name Jordan Burns, was gunned down this morning here in Belize City.  The deadly shooting happened around nine a.m., as he walked along Barbara Harris Street, formerly known as Holy Emmanuel Street, in the direction of Lake Independence Boulevard.  It is reported that Waight was accosted by a lone gunman who fired a single shot at him.  Despite being rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, Waight was pronounced dead on arrival.  Of note is that a previous attempt had been made on his life earlier this year.  Jordan Burns is no stranger to the law.  In fact, his rap sheet goes back to May 2018, when he escaped from police custody after being charged for the murder of Carlton Moreira in the vicinity of Mayflower Street.  Burns was subsequently captured and in February 2019, he was ordered to stand trial for the shooting death of Moreira, whose execution was reportedly the result of Boledo winnings.  As we mentioned earlier, in July of this year, Burns was shot in the foot while walking on Ordonez Avenue.  In the wake of that incident, he did not cooperate with a police investigation and later checked himself out of the K.H.M.H.
