Businessman Sentenced to Life for Murder of Wife
A man who was found guilty for the murder of his wife was today sentenced to life imprisonment. David Gonzalez listened as High Court Judge Ricardo O’Neil Sandcroft sentenced him to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole after he has served thirty-five years behind bars. The judge deducted the time that Gonzalez has already served on remand. The body of twenty-eight-year-old Marisela Gonzalez was found in San Pedro on October twelfth, 2020 in San Pedro where the couple lived. On the night of the murder, Marisela had gone out with Gonzalez but on their way home, Gonzalez claims she asked to go back to take a few more drinks. The two got into an argument and she left, said Gonzalez, but Marisela never made it back home. When her body was found it had a gunshot wound. On Friday, November tenth, Justice Sandcroft found Gonzalez guilty of murder after weeks of trial. The Crown Counsel was Riis Cattouse, who was able to present circumstantial evidence linking Gonzalez to the murder.
