Former ministers to be sued by central government
And there’s more news from the P.U.P. as former Minister Jose Coye will be back in court soon. Coye has been served with a notice of civil action against him by the government. Coye recently said he felt vindicated after Lands Commissioner, Manuel Rodriguez, instructed the Lands Registrar to cancel letters of caution the ministry had issued to title-holders of fifty-seven lots in a subdivision developed by Coye’s CHEOP Enterprises. In a release this afternoon Coye states (quote) “I was served notice that the Barrow administration, through the ministry of natural resources, have filed a civil suit against me. I welcome this opportunity, which will once and for all exonerate me of any and all wrongdoing and expose this legal action as part of a continued campaign of political victimization and reckless use of public funds”. Coye ends his release by saying that because the issue is before the courts he will not be making any further public comments about it.
