San Pedro fire started in Francisco Arceo quarters

Story PictureSan Pedro fire officials say while they are unable to determine what caused Wednesday morning’s blaze that destroyed the lower flat of a two storey wooden building, they are certain of where it started. Investigating officer, Miguel Medina told News Five today that the blaze started from the living quarters of Francisco Arceo, who owned the property and who occupied a portion of the lower flat. Arceo had left home two days before for work which is a few miles away from the island. Neighbours told investigators they heard an explosion from his room, which contained cans of thinners he uses in his line of work. Arceo has upped his losses from fifty-two to sixty-two thousand dollars but the good news to his loss is that the house was insured. Meanwhile, Mohamed Harmouch who lived on the other side of the lower flat, lost a major part of his personal belongings and business, One Love Grocery, also housed on the lower flat. Unfortunately for him, nothing was insured.
