Former Grace Kennedy employee charged with Theft
The search for twenty-eight year old Leon Staine is over. The former accounts manager of Grace Kennedy Belize today appeared in court to answer to thirteen counts of Theft that was brought against him by the company. It is alleged that Staine stole over fifty-three thousand dollars from the company between June and October of last year. When Staine appeared in Magistrates’ Court he was slapped with the charges to which he pleaded not guilty. As a result, Magistrate Dorothy Flowers offered him bail of ten thousand dollars and adjourned the case until March thirty-first. The incident occurred last year while Staine was employed at Grace Kennedy Belize and allegedly did not deposit monies he collected on behalf of the company. It was not until January of this year that Finance Manager, Marcelo Blake became aware of the missing deposits.
