Special constable charged for releasing accused sex offender

Keon "Gambis" Williams

Keon "Gambis" Williams

One of two police officers under investigation for securing the release of Keon Williams, aka “Gambis” was charged today. Last Friday, Williams was captured and this morning, police levied criminal charges against one of the cops in the center of the investigation. He is thirty-five year old Special Constable, John Myvett, a police attached with the prosecution Branch and one of the officers in whose care Williams was when he was denied bail but ended on the loose.  Myvett was slapped today with extortion and obtaining services by deception. It is alleged that last week Tuesday, he obtained two thousand and sixty dollars from Williams to secure his bail at the Supreme Court. The court prosecutor, Sergeant Pablo Pikney, objected to bail in the court of Magistrate Kathleen Lewis due to what he said was the prevalence of the crime and told the court that it is known countrywide that officers are involved in dishonesty. Pikney also warned that Myvett may try to interfere with witnesses.   His attorney, Michael Peyrefitte, did not agree with the prosecution but said he was surprised since another officer was not before the court for the same case. Still, the Magistrate ordered Williams on remand until January twenty-eight. On the day of his release, Williams had been charged for committing an unnatural crime on a fourteen on a fourteen year old primary school boy.
