Teachers team up and become better planners
Peer education is a popular learning technique that teacher’s employ by grouping students together who draw on each other’s strengths. But have you heard of peer learning for teachers? If you haven’t and you’re in the education field, then the next story is for you. A business cooperative called Teachers Learning Together intends to pool the resources of educators to develop the best classroom experience for teachers and students alike. One of the facilitators, Melanie Price, says that they hope to bring teachers together on a regular basis.
Melanie Price, Facilitator, Teachers Learning Together
“Teacher’s Learning Together is a business cooperative for teachers and aspiring teachers to really create the educational tools, the lesson plans, the curriculum that we can actually use in Belize for Belizeans and actually sell abroad to the Caribbean region and throughout the world. The point is to create a system of accountability within our own teaching profession where we actually create what we utilize in the classroom.”
