3 to be charged with conspiracy to murder Shoman Family
News Five has confirmed that three persons will be charged shortly with Conspiracy to Commit Murder on businessman Jose Shoman and family members. Word from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Cheryl-Lynn Branker-Taitt is that the file is on its way to the police.
The charges against thirty-three year old Aldo Miguel Urbina of Orange Walk Town and twenty-two year old Cesar Aldana relate to a plot to murder the Shoman Family in the wee hours of December thirteenth. The third will be charged as soon as his identity is verified. That’s because he has been identified thus far only as one of the three Guatemalan minors. On December sixteenth, six persons, including forty-seven year old Honduran national Miguel Mayorga, along with Urbina and Aldana and three seventeen year old Guatemalans were slapped with charges of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery and firearm and ammunition offenses. Our source has indicated that there is evidence that the Conspiracy to Commit Murder charge will be based on statements made by the trio.
When police got wind of the group’s plans to rob the Shoman family and then murder them at their home on the Northern Highway, they conducted an impromptu operation that same night. The cops discovered the men at a house in the Saint Martin de Porres area with weapons and other accessories items likely to be used in the commission of the crime. Meanwhile, additional charges are also expected to be placed against the other two Guatemalan minors as soon as the role they played in the plot is ascertained.
