Arrests made in late night robbery
There were several robberies to report that took place over the weekend. The first incident occurred on Friday on Orange Street in Belize City. About seven-fifty p.m. two men entered Sunshine Restaurant and one of the two, stood guard at the door while the other headed to the counter and pulled out a black point nine millimeter pistol from his pants, cranked it and demanded money. Twenty-four year old Yilan Guan, the cashier, and several other customers were robbed of their wallets, jewelry, cell phones and personal documents. The cops are looking for the two suspects.
The second incident occurred on Saturday on Princess Margaret Drive. About two fifty a.m., two men approached a food stall near the Caesar’s Palace nightclub. Twenty-seven year old Shean Belisle, who was standing at the food stall, said that the men demanded money from him. Before he could respond, one of the men hit him with a beer bottle on his face and he fell to the ground. Both men searched him and took his Sony Ericsson Cellular phone and thirty dollars cash. The men next jumped into a maroon Astro Van but their getaway was short-lived as the van and its occupants were later stopped by the police. As a result, police arrested and charged three residents of Neal’s Pen Road. Thirty-year old Charles Arzu, twenty-seven year old Barrington Gentle, and thirty-three year old Larry Lambey were all charged for robbing Belisle.
