Inmate gets extra year for drug trafficking
Also in the court, an inmate at the Hattieville Prison will spend an extra year behind bars after he pleaded guilty to charges of Drug Trafficking. Today, thirty-five year old Martin Gideon, who was serving nine years for a previous case of robbery and harm, was sentenced to spend another year for trying to slip drugs into the prison facilities. The incident occurred on January third when a search conducted on Gideon revealed that within his tennis shoes were two parcels; one of which contained ninety-five grams of cannabis and the other contained ‘fonto’ also known as tobacco leaves. Gideon was handed over to Hattieville police where he was charged for this offence.
