Deportee remanded for Aggravated Assault

Story PictureA man who appeared in court for failing to report to the police, was slapped with a subsequent charge of Aggravated Assault. Fate was not kind to twenty-four year old Michael Young, a deportee when he appeared in the Magistrate Court today. Young pleaded guilty to the charge of failure to report and as a result, Magistrate Edd Usher fined him one hundred and fifty dollars and was given until January thirty-first to pay the fine. But it was not over for Young and he was remanded for another charge of Aggravated Assault against seventeen year old Elsworth Hendy. Young was being spared in court when Hendy indicated that he did not want any further court action, but due to the lack of Hendy’s identification card, the charge stuck and Young was remanded to prison until February seventeenth. The incident with Hendy occurred on around three-thirty on the evening of December twenty-ninth, where Young allegedly hit Hendy with the butt of pistol on his head.
