Monday evening shootings leave 2 injured
In one of the most recent shootings in the city, the victim is thirty-eight year old Marion Henkis who was shot while exiting her yard towards Regent Street West. At around six Monday evening, Henkis was in an alley heading to a nearby shop when she observed two young men riding on separate bicycles from West Canal towards Thurton Lane. According to Henkis, one of the gunmen fired several shots at her; one bullet caught her and lodged in her lower right arm. Today, Henkis told News Five off camera that she feels that bullets were intended for someone else. Police have since detained one suspect and are looking for another.
And about thirty minutes later, another incident occurred leaving a minor detained and police in search of two culprits. Around six-thirty that same evening, thirty-seven year old Carl Bradley told police that he was walking on East Canal towards Racecourse Street when he heard a loud bang and realized that he had been shot. The bullet penetrated Bradley’s right shoulder and he was transported to the K.H.M.H. where he was treated for injuries and released. Police have since detained a fourteen year old minor and are currently looking for two other suspects known to them.
