Cab driver taken on a drive at gun point

On Tuesday, we told you about an ammunition bust on Cairo Street that led to the arrest of former high school student, Mark Usher Junior, of Faber’s Road. Well today, the story continues to unravel and two others have been arrested and charged for Handling Stolen Goods. On February nineteenth at about nine p.m., on Cinderella Plaza, taxi-diver, Cornelio Day was approached by a man who requested his taxi service. According to Day, he took his fare to the corner of Dean Street and Chapel Lane. When he parked, the man got out, left the vehicle door open and soon enough another entered his taxi and ordered him to reverse to Chapel Lane.  Day did as he was told and that’s when the man pulled out a gun, placed it at the right side of his neck and ordered him to turn off the running engine. The taxi driver claims that he did not comply and struggled with the man until he was able to get away, leaving the vehicle behind. According to Day, the vehicle belongs to Gregory Daker, a businessman of the St. Martin’s de Pores area. Police today charged Eustace Lewis, Kariq Tzul, and Mark Anthony Usher Jr. for Handling Stolen Goods after they were found in possession of Daker’s car. Only Lewis and Tzul appeared before Magistrate Aretha Ford. The duo pleaded not guilty and was offered bail. Usher who is on remand for unlicensed ammunition charges, will be brought to court on Thursday. The trio was seen running on Cairo Street where the black taxi, a Camry, was found. That’s also where Usher was arrested when unlicensed ammunition was located by the police in overgrown bushes.
