Wife of alleged shooter accuses victim of similar offense

In the local courts, the common-law wife of a man on remand has brought a charge against a tour guide.  Twenty-nine year old Geraldine Castillo has accused Dennis Tillett of shooting at her.  But according to Tillett, Castillo fabricated the story because he refused to drop a case against her husband, who is now awaiting trial.  Michael Young, also known as Ham, is charged with Aggravated Assault for allegedly shooting at Tillett on Saturday near Elston Kerr Street.  But now it is Tillett who is charged with assaulting Young’s wife and is now behind bars along with Young.  According to Castillo, on Tuesday night she was socializing with her brother on Raccoon Street Extension when she saw a man give Tillett a gun, which he fired in her direction, but missed.  Tillett was remanded to Hattieville Prison until March thirtieth.  But before Tillett left the court room, he told Magistrate Aretha Ford that Castillo’s story was fabricated and that at the time of the alleged shooting, he was at his mother’s house.  He added that Castillo went to his house after her husband Michael Young was jailed and threatened that if he does not drop the charge against him, she will make sure he too goes to jail.  Tillett was unrepresented in court but his mother told News Five that she will seek the assistance of an attorney to apply for bail for him as soon as possible.
