“Mac” facing Burglary, Handling Stolen Goods charges

Story PicturePolice moved quickly to arrest a man in connection with another burglary report in Belize City. This morning, Christopher McKoy, also known as Mac, appeared in Magistrate’s Court to answer to charges of Burglary and Handling Stolen Goods. The thirty-six year old was found in possession of several items stolen from the home of eighty year old Robert Swift. According to Swift, sometime between nine-thirty Tuesday night and seven-thirty the following Wednesday morning his garage on Princess Margaret Drive was burglarized. The thieves stole a water hose and an electric pressure washer. Police picked up McKoy and recovered all the items. McKoy, a resident of Raccoon Street, pleaded not guilty to the charges and was offered bail of three thousand five hundred dollars. He could not meet bail and so was remanded to prison. McKoy’s is to reappear in court on February second. According to legal records, between 2003 and 2008, McKoy has had four charges of burglary and three charges of handling stolen goods either dismissed or struck out.
