Erwin X says the idea was conceived from long before founder of Mothers Organized for Peace, Therese Felix, passed away but at the time resources were scarce. Meanwhile, the peace rally is set for Sunday March twenty-first and Schakron says it should provide an opportunity for consolation.

“It’s just for solidarity with all the Belizean people, even if you have not lost a loved one, come out, support us for all these victims of crimes. Just let our voice be heard. We want the leaders to notice what’s happening, the pain, we want the murders to stop because I’m telling you Marion, it’s very hard when you lose a loved one, and a young person, it’s really hard. We are experiencing a lot of pain and we have no answers.”

“The march will start at the end of the boulevard and we will move through the streets and it will culminate at the City Centre, where we will have artists, we’ll have a stage and mothers will be speaking and sharing their thoughts and to see if we could get closure on some of these issues, then to set an agenda for our leaders. This is not about the rich or the poor. It is not about one family or another family. It’s about us as a people.”
Chris Galvez’ good friend, Andre Aguilar, who had picked up Galvez at his home on the fateful night of December twenty-second, has reportedly returned to Belize. Aguilar had travelled abroad soon after he was released from police custody pending investigation. A purported eyewitness to alleged in a telephone interview that Aguilar punched Galvez in the mouth just moments before he was shot dead.
