Video catches two men and minor in sexual acts

A fourteen year old minor is out of school on an expulsion, a Belize City accountant is behind bars and it’s all linked to a tape that is now in police possession. What’s the connection? Well, what’s on the tape is not your average home video. In fact it’s a disturbing recording of thirty-three year old Cordel Gonzalez and another man having sex with the fourteen year old student. According to a police report filed on Tuesday by the teenage girl accompanied by a social worker, she had sexual relations with Gonzalez on two separate occasions—November seventeenth and twenty-seven, 2009—when she visited his home. However, the girl also said she had other sexual encounters with Gonzalez but could not recall the dates so further charges could not be brought against him. This morning, when Gonzalez stood in the court of Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb McKenzie with his attorney Dickie Bradley, he was slapped with two counts of carnal knowledge. McKenzie explained she could not accept a plea at this time since it is an indictable offence and after a preliminary inquiry may end up being committed to the Supreme Court. She also stated bail could not be granted and remanded him to the Hattieville Prison until April sixteenth, 2010. But Gonzalez is not the only man the girl allegedly had sex with, she named a second individual with whom she had relations in June of 2009. Police are searching for the second suspect but sources close to the case have informed us that he is in the process of turning himself in and has also retained the services of Attorney Dickie Bradley.
Why expel the child, so she can sit at home and turn worthless over a mistake. It seems to me her punishment is harsher than the men who took advantage of her.
The days that we are living in are so crucial. Belize I pray for you more that i pray for my self. My prayers are being answered, this is one thing that i pray for child molesters will be find and sentence.
Cordel and I went to UB together, did accounting together. He’s a cool guy. That, however, has nothing to do with this act. It is wrong and it breaks the law. He should be punished like anyone else. However, I will say this, do not judge the man and send him to hell. Jesus Christ himself said, You who have NO sin, cast the first stone. He did what he did, he will do his time. Cordel, my prayers are with you. I pray also for the young lady, whose life will never be the same. God will heal the wound caused by this act.
What is Belize coming to? As a mother I am concern. While at this moment, it is all allegations against the two allege accused, I hope that for the sake of our children, some justice is serve because perpretrators are standing right in front of our eyes on a daily basis waiting to attack. Our children are so quick to jump that they become easy targets. I also hope that the police department has done or will make sure they do a thorough investigation into this sex tape incident if it is indeed true. It is so important what they do when they get involve in any case as the most critical time is the first few hours at teh crime scene. What they do as officers will determine the outcome of a case even if it takes 4-6 years to come to trial at the Supreme Court. Lately, with the many allege murder suspects walking after months on remand, many people have little or no faith by now in the justice system. The government must think very seriously as to how they can or will start to truely “protect” our witnesses in any cases. The time is now or else by the time the cases comes up at the courts, there won’t even be one witness to take the stand. For example the case of Kareem Lopez, aka “Robbery.” In this case, the brother of the decease, (Mark Gardiner, the deccease) was afraid to come to testify. He did not show up and as insignificant as his testimony may have seem, it was very important to the prosecution case. There should have never been the question of whether or not a man is dead when we all know he is dead as he was shot and gun down in a cold blooded manner in broad daylight. Let’s not let these same things continue to occur and let justice be serve.

Although the figures are small in children engaging in sexual behaviors in this situation, one has to take steps to ensure that the man teachers are not taking advantages of his students, by raping them.
Expulsion is not the answer; once again she is being raped by her society.
Expulsion may do more harm to victim and those who are the recipients of inappropriate sexual behavior.
Children are being raped in your homes, their schools, and their churches, Yet, arguably, while some Belizean parents are short of intelligence and life skills are incapable of giving love and protection to their kids, other parents can help make the change.

I agree that the punishment for the young lady is absolutely inappropriate. She needs to stay in school so she won’t continue in this wrong path. Perhaps mandatory church attendance could have been a better punishment. Or maybe Hospital work, so she can see the suffering of the STD bearers. We must SCARE THEM STRAIGHT people. I remember my teenage life, and believe me, the only thing that kept me safe, were some god-awful pictures of rotten and infected p that one of my teachers showed us as a class once. I know the school needs to set an example of this girl so other girls can be saved, but honestly, the notion of NO SCHOOL is not PUNISHMENT to a teenager, trust me, NO SCHOOL is a reason to celebrate, when you are that age.
My wife and I personally know the family and this is a complete surprise. Add this to the amount of “shocks” in national media that has been coming to the forefront. This should say something and raise awareness of how busy “satan” is. I believe that there are consequences to every action just like “to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction” and as much as the consequence would not be favorable it is an inevitable. Food for thought – the girl was not raped according to the current information given by your newscast. My question is when will “consensual sex” even if a minor become also a punishable offense? She should be in juvenile court and be allowed to continue her education so that she will atleast get an education. IN the meantime, counselling should be provided to both to overcome this situation. I am sure both Cordel and the girl are remorseful. Let’s provide them the help to heal and restore their lives not just punish them and allow a cycle to continue. They will both be in my prayers.
Mr. gonzalez is former teacher of a high school I went to. He was released from his Job for similar act ( having relations with students). I don’t know why they did not report this matter, but you see you can’t run from the law, things will catch up with you.There is no way in hell I feel sorry for him- he deserves wht he is getting.I know what he did was wrong but young girls-I’m a teeenager myself – these days need to understand that they should never trust a man or even allow him to video tape them. A child is not capable of giving consent for sex to an adult, therefore is it wrong to have sex with a child? No matter if she seems mature for her age or act older than her years, legally she is incapable of providing consent, and it is RAPE.

The young lady Voluntary went to his home. She is some what to blame. fromthe time she went to his house that means she was looking for somthing. For sake why would a 14 year old go to a 33 year old man house. Mother need to start becoming strick on there kids and no there wherea bouts. I agree with those who say this girl knows exactly what she was doing and from what I heard about the video she KNEW what she was doing. It’s all about choice and these girls can choose not to do these things. Would it have made a difference if the guys were 15 or the girl was 25 and the guys were 50? It’s all the same. The law is there to protect those 16 years and under but truth be told these kids couldn’t be bothered by what the law says and consequences for not abiding.
Anybody weh know Cordel, knows that he just hot and has always been that way….I’m sure there are PLENTY of girls who have experience with him willingly (and there’s nothing wrong with that so long as it’s consensual). So I think the only thing remorserful the parties involved regret would be having made that video that got circulated and got them in the situation they are in; but certainly not remorseful about the consensual sexual act.
