Chester Williams re-instated as senior superintendent
Senior Superintendent of Police Chester Williams has been reinstated to post following a very public demotion earlier this year. Williams’ lawyer, Edwin Flowers confirmed to News Five today that he received a letter from the Belize Advisory Council stating that a decision had been reached to reverse the demotion made by the Security Services Commission in October. Williams was second in charge at the Eastern Division and Crimes Investigation Branch in Belize City when he fell from grace after the February elections and then became embroiled in a dispute with Superintendent Edward Broaster. That squabble relegated Williams from the Eastern Division to his current post at the Police Training Unit in Belmopan. Though reinstated, it is up to Police Commissioner Gerald Westby to decide if Williams will be transferred back to the Eastern Division.
