Victor Espat explains resignation from NICH
And on the unraveling controversy involving NICH President Diane Haylock and Minister Marcel Cardona, a copy of a letter by outgoing administrator Victor Espat, has been made available to the media. In the letter bearing today’s date, Espat tells Board members of the power struggle between Haylock and Cardona which according to him began on Haylock’s appointment and has now escalated to an “unscrupulous war.’’ Espat explains out that his resignation letter, meant to be a private matter, was made public yesterday and now discloses that he has been caught in the middle of the conflict and that he is no longer prepared to work under these circumstances. Espat also clarifies that while he was prepared to serve an additional month until February fifteenth, he is now only undertaking responsibility for NICH operations and the training of his successor. And to reconfirm its position, the Ministry of Culture today issued once again its release which declares that the contract is null and void.
