Video records thieves robbing gas station

texaco 2Not only are daylight murders becoming common, but daylight robberies are also on the rise. Earlier this week we reported on the robbery of the Social Security funds from its offices on Princess Margaret Drive and last week on the robbery of Doony’s on Albert Street.  It is so dangerous that not even security cameras deter would be robbers from committing the crimes. The Texaco Food Mart Gas Station near the BelChina Bridge has been jacked two times this year. On February twenty-second, two men walked up to an attendant and took four hundred and forty dollars.  Despite the abundance of cameras at this particular gas station, it happened again last night around eight-twenty-three.  On the tape you can see the attendant pumping gas into a suburban Sport Utility Vehicle.  After the driver steps out, two men, one wearing baggy white shorts and the other wearing baggy checkered shorts, strolled up to the unsuspecting attendant.  A quick struggle ensues and they push him forward while emptying his pockets.  You can see that the attendant was hit in the head.  The culprits’ get away plan was simply to run away, which they did quite successfully.  According to the managers of the Texaco Food Mart, the two robbers escaped with four hundred and sixty dollars.
