Crooks’ problem should not affect credibility of his report

crooks documentBut will the allegations have any bearing on the famous Crooks Report? The Commissioner of Police, Crispin Jeffries, was busy most of today, but the Police Press Officer, Sergeant Fitzroy Yearwood says Crooks’ problems should not affect the credibility of the report.

Sergeant Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Press Officer

“If he is being sought in Jamaica for some crime or the other that, has nothing to do with Belize Police Department.  Whether or not he committed himself we are not certain of that but as soon as the information unfolds to us then I would be able to comment on that.  But as far as I know, he didn’t commit himself in Belize.  The Crooks Report recommendations are great recommendations and they should help us to move forward.  But at the same time a man is innocent until proven guilty and Mr. Crooks has been accused of a crime and I’m sure that he will be allowed a fair trial and I don’t see how his trial or the crime that he’s being accused of would affect us with his recommendations.”
