Toddler drowns in River

There is another fatality to report. The lifeless body of two-year old Kelisha Kelly was found floating in the Belize River on Sunday morning by a Belize City resident traveling along the river.  At about nine thirty that morning Colin Cabral, who was traveling along the river came across the body. It is reported that the minor was asleep at home sometime before nine o’clock when her mother, thirty year-old Keisha Westby, went over to a neighbor’s house.  She claims that when she returned fifteen minutes later the toddler was nowhere to be found.  The property, situated off the Northern Highway, is fenced from all sides except its rear which faces the Belize River. Belize City police are not providing further details but are not ruling out foul play. The mother is being questioned by the police in the investigations.

This is ridiculous. That mother should be charged for neglect even if its not foul play. What decent proper mother would leave her child unattended in a home alone and expecially a two year old and for fifteen minutes. It could have been a fire or anything else. In america she would have been locked up without question. And don’t tell me that is america, damn it. Because Belize can do no better on their own and if we copy all the crime pattterns. Then we should copy other things too. They are not independent enough to stand on their own.
