The price of fuel at the pump continues to skyrocket
If you plan to drive to your destination for the long holiday weekend, it would have been wise to fill up on Wednesday. Though there were no official releases from the government, the price of fuel at the pump went up across the board. Before midnight, super or premium stood at nine dollars and sixty- seven cents and it rose twenty- two cents to nine dollars and eighty- nine cents. Regular gas was nine dollars and thirty- six cents, it rose twenty- one cents to nine dollars and fifty- seven cents. Diesel was eight dollars and fourteen cents and it shot up nineteen cents to eight dollars and thirty- three cents. A caveat to keep in mind is that the price of fish always goes up at this time of year, and goes down following the weekend, however, fuel only seems to keep on rising. And a word of advice, fill up your butane tanks because the price is also expected to go up next week.
“…We will bring down the cost of living no matter what…” ….so they say…..dah only fool di talk but dah noh fool di listen. The prime minister is surely doing the opposite of what he said he was going to do…they won’t make it to a second term in government this i can see.
I believe making hanging law, again, for people found guilty of murder would be a deterrent to stop crime in Belize. Plus, Belize needs to bring back the night life, open back the movie theaters and have the stores stay open again until nine pm. COMES 6:00 PM BELIZE IS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. THE CITY IS IN DARKNESS. I left Belize in the 70’s, and now Belize is the worst it’s even been. People never got shot in Belize, now Belizean’s get shot everyday.
So much for political promises?
How much can the Belizean people take before they demand a change, for someone that will care about US?
The abuses of power continue: more taxes, “Quitar” land, corruption, crime, rogue cops, broken promises, mismanagement of funds, and general inability to create any new plans for development to help us.
So far their only solution; make us pay for everything they want to do!
Come on Man, give us a break, before you break us.
Remember: when fuel goes up thats transportation costs, then everything else follows!

“BRING DOWN THE COST OF LIVING NO MATTER WHAT” LOL I never believed them its the same as when the Esquivel gov’t was in power, only them became rich see Mr Barrow he is 3.5 million dollars rich while we the poor sufer,waht about the profit from BTL? why don’t he use that to help our economy,or cut his ministers salary ! the only thing he cares is that Ms.Lois Young Barrow continues to collect her big chek,his son Anwar get paid a high salary at BTL, Mr.Barrow’s brother get a high post at the judiciary, and how about Mr.Manuel Esquivel at BTL also,and the others there they only think for them,”where are the posibilities ? we no want here talk this and talk that, we want to see actions the crime situation is in a mess need to implement some measures to tackle crime,unemployment is extremely high at this moment things are getting harder and it will get worst, all those buisnesses most be prepared to watch uno back because u don’t know when u’ll be the target. pls mr.Barrow do as u promised and we demand it because its OUR money the country’s money.
I supported this government all the way during the general elections. When Dean Barrow and his people won, i trully felt as if it was my own family who went into office. However,today i feel like i’ve been fooled. MY GOVERNMENT says that their will be more than one thousand items that will be exempted from G.S.T. MERCY MR. BARROW most of these items never had GST to begin with so poor consumers like me will not see a decline on basic food items. Rice is still 1.20 per lb. flour is 90c a pound. Mr. Barrow MY Blood Brother, PLEASE bring these prices down by any means necessary. My famility consist of two adults and two kids and i am feeling it. PUT YOURSELF in the shoes of families that has about 4-6 kids. You may find yourself scratching you head in trying make ends meet.
THE ONLY THING THESE POLITIANS DO IS GET HIGH SALRY ,RELAX AND ENJOY THE RIDE…PEOPLE WE ARE FOOL ED AGAIN.. THE SAME HIGH OFFICIALS WITH THE PUP ARE THE SAME HIGH OFFICIALS WITH THE UDP… CORRUPT, GREED, AND DISHONESTY. IS THE THEME WITH BOTH PARTIES..

I aint a politician but I am almost thirty years old and i keep hearing teens-adults- and senior citizens blaming the government. I can feel the pain but at the same time there is a few worse things that is not done, instead we have to thank God we can have the strenght to survive… IT TAKES ALL OF US TO FORM THE GOVERNMENT… THE ELECTED PERSONS JUST REPRESENT US(WE ARE THE ONES WHO GOVERN OUR COUNTRY) LIFE IS HARD BUT GETS WORSE WHEN NEGATIVE THINGS AND MINDS JOIN HAND IN HAND…
BE POSITIVE ABOUT WHAT WE ALL CAN DO, ATLEAST TRY TO THINK ABOUT THE ADVANTAGES AHEAD OF TIME…

I understand you pain, I hope for all of you but not you only but the world it’s self is suffering. I believe that when you elect people to run your country. You have to know who you will pick and how to pick them..All these people who was elected in the pass and now has not made an effort to fix the problem..Its sad to see that crimes and robbery is a major problem in Belize..Belize was once the paradise but its sacred to got to Belize. Seeing what is going on and the economy is horrible. You people,especially the highly educated should come together and but heads in one and figure out what is best for the people and the country. Why you people keep electing the wrong person, they don’t care about you all. Their bread is buttered on both sides. If the wanted a better Belize for you all,they would have done good for the country and the people. You all should come together as one and bring these people down ,regroup and make the right choice for you, your kids and the Belize it’s self….
