One Rufus X says he’s not hiding from the Auditor General

Rufus X, the outspoken critic who sports combat fatigue and with his trade mark shaggy head of hair and beard has not been heard of in quite a while until when on March twenty sixth, the Minister of Housing, called out his name in the House of Representatives.  In the middle of the debate on the budget, Michael Finnegan pulled out an auditor general’s report questioning a half million dollar transaction given to Rufus X while he worked at housing.  Finnegan suggested that the police might even need to get involved since certain houses or paperwork could not be located.  News Five had a quick run-in with Rufus, but before you hear what he had to say, here’s a look at Finnegan’s presentation in the Capital.

“Mr. Speaker, if anybody knows the whereabouts of one Rufus X, he must report immediately and directly to the Auditor General. Mr. Speaker, the Auditor General wants to know his whereabouts. He wants to interview him, it’s right there in the auditor report. He wants to interview mister Rufus ex with some five hundred and sixty-seven thousand, one hundred and twenty-five dollars and fifty-nine cents Mr. Speaker for some twenty-five bungalow houses, which the monies were given to him up front for construction.  This is in the Dickie Bradley period. This money was disbursed between the twenty-seventh of March to thirty-first of March, five days period ended 2003, ending the financial year. Dat dah when di financial year di done. They cannot find ten of the houses, a total of three hundred and four thousand dollars.”

“Last week in the House, Mr. Finnegan said the auditor general wants to speak to “One Rufus X.” Are you in hiding?”

“No  I’m not.  I’m out in the clear. Everybody can see me every day.

“When it comes to the auditor general are you going to speak to him?”

“The auditor general does not have any desire to speak to me. He doesn’t have any reason to. So I don’t see why I should speak to him unless it’s on a friendly term.

And regarding the housing problems, how will that be dealt with?

That will be dealt with legally certainly.”
