Duo will spend holidays behind bars for jacking beach cruiser
And in other news from the courts, twenty-nine year old Leroy “Red Ants” Rhaburn and twenty-two year old Steven Sharp were both charged with Theft and Handling Stolen Goods in connection with a stolen black and silver beach cruiser. And the two will spend the holidays at the Central prison. The duo appeared in court and after pleading not guilt, Magistrate Aretha Ford refused them bail and remanded them to prison. Rhaburn owed the court, thirty-thousand dollars for three previous firearm convictions and Sharp three hundred and fifty dollars. The trial was adjourned until January fifteenth.
The incident occurred around eleven Tuesday night when twenty-one year old Darnell Garbutt reported to police that he left his bicycle parked outside the Olympic Restaurant on Orange Street. While Garbutt entered the restaurant to purchase some food, Rhaburn got on his bicycle and rode off. Rhaburn was first to be detained and he led police to Sharp’s residence where the bicycle was found already dismantled.
