Night club burns in San Ignacio

A fire has totally destroyed a nightclub and partially damaged a house on Carillo Puerto Street in San Ignacio Town.  The blaze was reported around three on Sunday morning and according to Inspector Dinsdale Thompson, there is not much to go on but a hunch.

“A house was under fire. Upon arriving there the police found out that it was a bar that was on fire and also too a home on the upper top of the bar, it housed a home. The owner at the moment, reported to us only that the house was insured. We haven’t had evidence that that house was indeed insured but that’s what we have from the owner, that the house was insured. The fire officers are saying that it appears to be electrical. It hasn’t been confirmed, from downstairs in the bar. We’re not too sure of that. We need some evidence from them in writing to say yes, this is what occurred. But that’s what fire personnel are indicating.”

The results of the investigations are due by the end of this week.
