Officer stabbed at Baby Cham Bar

Meanwhile a police officer was stabbed at a nightclub around nine on Saturday night.  He escaped alive but severely injured and lies in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.  Deputy Officer Commanding the San Ignacio Police formation, Inspector Dinsdale Thompson, told us how it happened.

“One police constable by the name of Rogelio Navarette, he is posted in Benque Viejo Police Formation. While he was at Baby Cham Bar here in San Ignacio along with his brother Abel Navarette, they caught in a fight along with two other guys who police is presently looking for. Navarette, during the attack upon him, PC Navarette received stab wounds to his upper stomach and his lower abdomen as well. He was transported to the San Ignacio Hospital whereby thereafter he was transported to the Belize City Hospital and at this present moment undergoing treatment. He is listed as stable at this moment.”

“Okay, the people who were involved in the fight along with him, do you have their whereabouts? Do you know who you’re looking for?”

Insp. Dinsdale Thompson

“Yeah, we know who we’re looking for. They are the Landero brothers from the San Ignacio area as well. We haven’t as yet arrested them. I don’t have their first name but we’re presently looking for them and we do know who we’re looking for. We have so far went out a couple times searching for them but I think they are probably on the run. But we are indeed looking for them and they will be charge once arrested and we’re looking at the charge of attempt murder.”

PC Navarette’s brother was not injured in the fight.
