Mobile home and US$58,000 cash go up in flames
In another fire, this time in the Cayo District, villagers of Armenia witnessed a Ford Air Bus Mobile Home belonging to Harvey Lee Wood go up in flames. Not only was the mobile home destroyed, but fifty-eight thousand U.S. dollars in cash and all its contents went up in flames. Wood who is a retiree from the United States says his mobile home was valued at ninety-five thousand U.S. dollars. Initial investigations revealed that Wood left his home around twelve-thirty that afternoon and according to a neighbour; shortly after smoke was seen coming from the air condition unit of the house. Luckily for Wood, his home was insured for seventy-thousand Belize dollars at Home Protector Insurance Company. The origin of the fire has not been established, but there is initial speculation that it may be a case of arson.
