Two culprits arrested for murder of Raheem Velasquez

Meanwhile, police have made two arrests in the Sunday morning murder of a sixteen year old from Roaring Creek. Raheem Velasquez was shot several times by members of a group he had an “old beef” with and just this afternoon Belmopan police charged twenty year old Darren Banner and nineteen year old Jaime Gill for the crime. The attack came after Velasquez’ friend, Lorencio Ho, ran to him for help after he was wounded on the head by someone from the group of rivals. Reports are that Velasquez headed to where Ho was attacked and the violent group turned on him with a firearm and shot him to the left side of his chest, the abdomen and twice in the lower back as attempted to escape.
In another recent murder, that of twenty-four year old Kashif Jeffries, cops still have nothing but the description of a vehicle to go on. Jeffries, a car dealer, was gunned down just three hours before he was to board a flight to Houston to purchase vehicles. Two gunmen emerged from a green Ford Explorer and fired a barrage of bullets at him as he sat in his vehicle talking to two female cousins. He was hit by ten of the eleven bullets fired at him. Jeffries was the son of media personalities Esme Anderson and Trevor Jeffries.
