Family of special constable refutes claim of shooting incident
During the robbery and shoot-out at the Spanish Lookout branch of Scotia Bank on March thirty first, one man died, that is Stephen Lopez, while another was seriously injured. Clifford Neal and his attorney Arthur Saldivar allege that Neal was shot four times by a Special Constable attached to the Spanish Lookout Police Formation. Neal said that Abe Letkeman, the special constable, did not ask questions and fired several shots, four of which critically injured him. However, Harry Letkeman, Abe’s brother, called News Five to say that the incident did not happen as Clifford Neal claims. He said QUOTE “ the claims that Mr. Clifford Neal and his attorney are making are false. My brother Abe Letkeman did not fire a single shot on the day of the bank robbery. Mr. Neal is using this incident to try and extort money from our family.” End Quote. Letkeman said that he believed that Neal was shot by the fleeing robbers. News Five has called San Ignacio Police to confirm Letkeman’s and Neal’s version of events but our calls have not been returned.
i personally want to say that we here in spanish lookout don’t really like black people and they want to chance us. we don’t trust them and immigrants too.
if no comment was made by s.i. police well something seems sketchy, they maybe not sure what to reply.

i’m a real dueck too, but the reason is that many times in belize city if have been intimidated by black guys insulted by black guys just because i’m a mennonite. in cayo too one time a guy run into my pickup with bicycle and wanted me to give him something cause he got hurt and he has the fault. why we have to be treated like that?
from my personal experience with anyone who is “mennonite” it has always been pleasant and mannerful. this can’t speak for everyone, but simple proof is available in the bullets lodged in Mr. Neal’s body and the weapon available to Mr. Letkeman. Of course this country will use any “hear me so” to prove a most useless point…like “not liking black people” who cares if you dont like black people? to get to a point, Mr. Neal has been know to be an extortionist in the past….so who knows who is telling the truth. the proof is in the gun..
Hey Dueck, if you dont like blacks, then i think it is best you get out of the country. Belize is a multicultured country and whosoever has a problem with that can go live elsewhere. Maybe Mississippi will welcome you and your racist mentality. It is just amazing how some people just come to this country and have a problem with people that are here longer than they are

And the divide between black and white is wide enough for you make a careless statement you made at first!! Some of my best friends are black, and some of my best workers are immigrants. And I know some really ‘cheap’ Mennonites too – ‘biljih donash’!!
