Jamal “Shyne” Barrow’s fate still on hold
Shyne, the rapper and son of Belize’s Prime Minister Dean Barrow is still incarcerated tonight in the United States. The rap artist who was born Jamal Barrow, served nine years of a ten year sentence before his release from New York’s Woodbourne Correctional Facility last Tuesday. When he checked today, but he remains confined at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility pending the possibility of deportation to Belize. According to Shyne’s attorney Oscar Michelen, his fate is expected to be decided this week. Prime Minister Barrow has written to New York Governor Patterson David Patterson hoping to have him pardoned. Barrow said he had spoken to people close to the governor and they have indicated that the governor has received his correspondence and his request is under active consideration.
