Suspect detained for Orange Walk Murder
The stabbing death of seventeen year old Erin Sutherland remains under investigation by Orange Walk Police. Sutherland succumbed to injuries received after being stabbed multiple times to the body around midnight on Saturday. He was walking along Sapodilla Street in the Louisiana area of town when he was accosted by a group of young men who proceeded to stab him in the cheek, chest, abdomen and forehead. So far police have detained one suspect for questioning. That individual has since been identified only as ‘Dean’. It was believed that the suspect had initially fled to Dangriga where he is originally from. Quick police work has led to his detention. Charges are expected to be brought against Dean in the murder of Erin Sutherland. A post mortem examination conducted on the body certified the cause of death as internal bleeding due to a stab wound to the heart. In respect of the murder Edgar Monteagudo that occurred in San Joaquin in the Corozal District on Saturday night, investigations are still under way.
