Funeral arrangements are being finalized for television journalist Keith Swift, who was found dead on Monday evening at this home on Lizarraga Avenue by his roommate, Mark Bowman. Swift will be laid to rest on Friday morning at ten at St. Anne’s Church in Belmopan where his family resides. On Tuesday, pathologist Dr. Mario Estradabran conducted a postmortem examination on the body of thirty year old Keith Kevin Swift.  At the conclusion, Dr. Estradabran certified the cause of death to be a failure to the right side of the heart as a consequence of trombo embolism cerebral hemorrhage. That means that bleeding in the brain caused his heart to stop beating. Swift worked for Channel Seven since 1998 and in the twelve years in the media, because a household name. His sudden death has shocked Belizeans from all walks of life and the tributes in his honor speak of the respect many had for him.

Keith was my dear friend for his days in the newsroom at BCB before it closed in 1998. I have watched his progress over the years with pride, hoping that I and the other members of the crew contributed in some small way to his training and desire to report with integrity and accuracy. I am very sad today, having just found out. My prayers go out to his family, current and old friends. I know he would be pleased to see such a warm outpouring of support and love. He was a great guy.
