Security guard busted for aggravated assault
Two men have been remanded to the Hattieville Prison for aggravated assault in separate altercations in Belize City. The first report was made against twenty three year old Noel Alamilla, a security guard at Saint Joseph Parish. Alamilla is being accused of committing two counts of aggravated assault upon a mother and her young daughter after an altercation allegedly over money on Sunday. Forty-three year old Tribucia Briceño alleges that on Sunday evening around five thirty she was at home with her daughters, Evelyn and Lucely Briceño when Noel Alamilla visited her home on Freetown Road and she questioned Alamilla about some money he owed her. The mother said that was when Alamilla became upset and pulled out a silver handgun and pointed it at her and her daughter, after which he hit her daughter, Evelyn in the head with the gun before leaving. Alamilla appeared in court represented by attorney, Ernest Staine. He pleaded not guilty but bail was not granted because of the nature of the offence. Alamilla was remanded to the Hattieville Prison until June sixteenth.
The second person to be arraigned on similar charges was Shaka Ahmad Jones, a Custom’s Security officer. Jones, a resident of Freetown Road, was charged with one count of Aggravated Assault upon Miguel Antonio Guillen and one count of Harm. The alleged incident also occurred on Sunday at a hot dog stand in Belize City. According to Guillen, at about seven thirty Jones came by his hot dog stand to purchase food and he did not have any change so he left to get change. But upon his return, Jones got into an argument with him and he had to pull out his knife in self defense. And that’s when he claims Jones pulled out a gun and pointed it at him. Guillen was also remanded until May twenty first.
