Ladyville thief stopped in his tracks

Story PictureAnd a burglar in Ladyville was caught in the act as he was about to leave the home he had just robbed and now he will spend the holidays behind bars. Thirty-five year old Leopold Stevens, a farmer of Lords Bank Village, appeared in court of Magistrate Tracy Sosa today and was charged with the crime of Burglary. The incident occurred shortly after eight a.m. on November twenty-eighth in Ladyville. The police responded to calls of a burglary in progress at the house of thirty-four year old Shannon Sanchez at the B.D.F. housing site. When the police arrived, they saw Stevens coming out of the front door with a school bag on his right shoulder. They apprehended Stevens and found several items stolen from Sanchez’s house. The police recovered a DVD player, assorted DVDs, a wristwatch, a calculator and some food supplies. And though Sanchez identified the items as hers, Stevens pleaded not guilty to the crime. Magistrate Sosa offered Stevens bail of five thousand dollars and since he could not come up with the cash, he was remanded until his case is heard on January nineteenth.
