I have a question For Channel 5? Where are you going with all these questions being asked? people vote in their answers and many or most are on the side of wrong doings. So therefore will anything be followed up or will it just {blow over like breeze} i mean the media plays a big role and most definetely u don’t want to get caught up either. But asking questions such as these has the belizean public waiting and thinking is it really going to help with the justice? Mention something on the news so that our voices will be heard. I am an IT person and definetely you review these comments but i hear it everyday from many people. “what are being done about our answers given to ur e-poll}?

Yes we all agree that it was not accidental and I applaud channel 5 for doing it’s share in getting justice…One question though…

As a matter of fact the ammunition that was used in this incident seems to be birdshot one of the least powered ammunition types used for shotguns, hence why the gentelman has a chance of recovering. If Buckshot or a slug would have been used the victim would have died on the spot, because those rounds have better ballistics…not sure if I would call them “high powered” though… Lets keep in mind that a lowly .25 can kill you just as dead as a 50BMG no need to sensationalize certain type’s of weapons beyond the facts cause then it makes your reporting a lil less credible.

That said charges should be filed against the officer.

Has it been made clear whether it was one shot or two? Doubt it, Police won’t want to admit that this was a deliberate act of violence (Attempted murder at the moment).
Their saying that only one shot could have been fired because only one spent cartridge was recovered is a farce – Everyone knows that a pump-action shotgun has to be pumped to clear an empty case and place the next live round ready for firing!
The second round was still in the chamber, but no doubt that has gone ‘missing’ already.

I notice a stunning silence from Belmopan – Lack of interest from G.O.B.. After all, it wasn’t one of the ‘First Belizeans’ or their families violated, so why should they worry? – God help Belize!

I know exactly what you mean with the clearing of a possible second expended cartridge from the shotgun’s chamber but I have looked at the pictures of the shotgun blast on the windshield and I am sure that it was one shot that hit the windshield. I dont know if a first shot was fired in the air or after the windshield impact. But I am pretty certain that the windshield impact was from one shot of birdshot.

The shotgun used was a 18.5 inch barrel shotgun and everyone knows that pellets start spreading as soon as they leave the barrel especially such a short barrel. If you look at the impact photos of the windshield and what some newspapers are saying is the impact shots you will see that a cluster of birdshot hit in the center and then you have some more pellets hitting higher up. This seems to be one shot fired and it spreading if it was two shots BOTH impact clusters would be of similar size..
