Gran Corozal Festival to be held on Saturday

And in the north, the Corozal Chapter of the Belize Tourism Association is working along with the local community in organizing the first ever Gran Festival Corozal. The official opening of the two day event will take place on Saturday at the Coronation Park. Organizers say that the purpose of the Festival is to create awareness and show the beauty of the northernmost Belize. The local BTIA stakeholders also want to develop a community-driven tourism industry that will preserve Corozal’s Manatee Sanctuary as well as the Maya Mestizo Culture. Proceeds from the event will be used for the development of the Corozal Cultural Centre.
