Father of children burnt in fire will be charged

On the home front, a couple in Dangriga lost their home in a fire on April seventeenth. While the house was burnt to ashes, an even greater loss was the death of their children, seven year old Alexander and four year old Archangel Higinio. Both parents, Marie Castillo and Irisi Higinio were attending a wake for a family friend that night and the kids were at home alone when the fire broke and trapped them inside. The quickly spreading blaze prevented neighbours from entering to rescue Alexander and Archangel and they were burnt to death by the time the inferno was contained by fire officials. But because the children were left at home without supervision at such a young age, it raised concerns of negligence. Well today Dangriga police informed News Five that they intend to bring charges against Irisi, the father of the deceased children. Irisi is expected to be charged with Manslaughter and Death by Careless Conduct but when we last checked today, he had not yet been detained.
Why is the mother not being charged for this case as well?
she also left her children behind, this makes her just as guilty as her man and should be charged just the same.
right fully i don’t think that the father should be charged alone, ” it’s like what they what is good for the goose is good for the gander” so therefore the mother should be charged as well. and if you don’t mind the mother should be charged more, because she should have been the one to take out the time and be with the kids, after 9months of childbearing pain a mother would neglect her 2 childrens at home to be around the dead, and leave the living alone and unsupervised.
I agree both should be charged because as parents they’re both equally responsible.
i wonder if the police did a damm gud investigation before they decided to charge this young man with such a crime as they call it. according to souces the mother was out having a gud time with her kahunas instead of being home with these two kids, y not also charge her with negligence of abondantment. I just think that we as people of society should look at this as a gud example in watching our kids closely and not leaving them behing no matter wat the situation maybe. wake up mothers and fathers and smell that life no cum cheap.
they should charge neither of them. They will punish enough with guilt for the rest of their lives. Canyou imagine how they feel right now?
They have ennough pain already
they may feel guilt, but they committed a crime and must pay, had it been a babysitter or anyone else, they would have charged them as well and with no sympathy…you are responsible for your kids and negligence of this kind is unacceptable from any parent no matter the circumstances. you had them, take care of them or the law will force you to!
I feel that both parent should be charge for their children murder,simply fact that both of them will continue to live their life,but the kids lives cut short because of there negligent.So let this be a lesson to all parent out there pay close attention to your children just love them don’t leave them they can’t go you can’t go just simple.
I believe that both parents are wrong for leaving 2 poor kids at home alone. Parental negligence is one of the main causes of the crime situation in our country. We blame the wrong people and politicians when we as parents are the ones to blame. We neglect our kids and leave them to the streets just to be socially accepted or to look like someone in society. We need to understand that the time we spend with our kids and the way we train them will determine their path in life and our country’s future. Neglect and children raising themselves is the main root of crime and violence. People tend to overlook the bigger picture in life. I think a board or committee should be formed to train parents to be parents. It is all a domino effect, the way we handle our kids will determine the way they handle theirs but with less values. If we show them we love them, we can raise the standard of life in the country. No love equals anger and hatred. Listen up belize and stop living socially and be morally inclined
I don’t think that the Mother is liable reason been that she left the kids in their father’s care.
both parents bear the responsibility of rearing their child or children. Every one is entitled to some time out therefore the person left in charge accepts the responsibility to keep the children safe. That happends to be the father in this case, and he alone should be held accountable.
