Safiyyah finds parties and an eating competition

Around the globe and in our own corner, celebrations are being held to honor mothers. Safiyyah has suggestions of where you can wine and dine that special person this weekend. And who won the Burrito challenge at Old Belize? That’s all coming up with Safiyyah.

Hey I’m Safiyyah and this is what’s happening Belize.

This weekend is all about mom, so of course all the activities will cater to her. Out in Benque Viejo, Okis Bar will be having have very special Karaoke night for all you moms. They will even have KTVL finalist Desmond Berry in the house to serenade you moms. There will also be giveaways for the moms in attendance.

In San Ignacio, Blue Angels will also be having a mother’s day party called Jewel: Mother’s Day Special. Music will be provided by Cloud Nine, DJ Benz, DJ Jesse, and Selecta Boss. There will be lots of giveaways catering to the moms.

At the San Ignacio Hotel you can enjoy their dinner specials from 6 to 11 on Saturday night and then head over to the Storks Club. There will also be dinner specials on Sunday as well as a special raffle for weekend getaway.

Here in Belize City, Club Planet will be having a Mother’s day party Latino Style. This Party will feature the spinning of DJ Super Mario. They too will have lots of giveaways for mom.

Another Latino style party happening in Belize City is Fiesta Latina. This Party takes place every two weeks inside the renaissance tower lounge. The music will be provided by DJ Lindy D. you can go out and enjoy Salsa, Merengue, cha cha cha, Bachata, Reggaeton.

And those of you Belmopan folks looking for something to do next week Thursday, La Cabana will be having another edition of Ladies night. This party will feature music by cloud nine, Mista Flava, and DJ Fingaz.  So check it out.

Now its time for our food challenge of the week. This week I our challenge takes places at Old Belize with their new Specialty the five pound Burrito.
