Elvin Torres accuses police officers of robbery

For months complaints of brutality and even murder against cops have gone unheeded, but with public outrage at an all time high, there is now a rush to make arrests. It is reported that as many as six officers are being questioned after gunmen opened fire on the Western Highway checkpoint over the weekend. One of the men who stopped to inquire about the officers’ well-being, is now making serious allegations against the officers on duty that night. Thirty-six year old Elvin Torres was along with Reginald Young in the pickup truck that stopped at the checkpoint. Police admit that the two were pursued when they left the scene and were caught at the Hattieville roundabout, but were released after questioning. There is more to that story because Torres is claiming that he was badly beaten and threatened with an M-sixteen rifle. To add to that, Torres is also accusing the officers of robbing him of a gold watch and bracelet. It is expected that charges for Robbery will be brought on Friday.
