Aubrey Lopez

Aubrey Lopez

And there is a development in the investigations into Aubrey Lopez’ murder.  Lopez was gunned down at around eleven on Wednesday night in the vicinity of Prince Street by a group of men who had commandeered the car he was driving.   News Five understands that the five men who stole the blue Nissan Altima car that night, high jacked Lopez’ vehicle to carry out a planned hit against another person. A police source indicates that as the men held Lopez hostage in the car, they ordered him to drive to Prince Street where they shot him, threw him on the street, and then drove to the Caesar Ridge Road area to carry out their plan. The group targeted one house in particular as they sped past the area that night.  The shots were fired randomly and no one was injured.  The group then sped towards East Collet Canal and was intercepted near the Queen’s Square Market.  Three of the men escaped, but two were apprehended and are still detained. Aubrey Lopez will be laid to rest in Belmopan after funeral services on Sunday afternoon at two at the UB Gymnasium also in Belmopan.  He was the last of three children to Mayor Lopez and his wife, Isolita.

jacketStill on the ongoing investigation, this afternoon police located this black jacket in a drain on Amara Avenue behind Saint Ignatius Primary School. It is believed that it could very likely belong to one of the five men who occupied the car involved in Lopez’ murder.  A resident of the area called the cops to notify them that they saw someone throw the jacket from the speeding vehicle as it headed towards King Street en route to the Queen’s Square Market.  Because it has been there since Wednesday night, it is not certain what evidence can be lifted from the piece of clothing.

THE COPS DON’T HAVE THE TOOLS TO WORK THIS TYPE OF DNA TESTING AND FIBER SAMPLING TO DEAL WITH THE JACKET WHO WAS THE LAST TO WEAR IT. IT WILL BE FRUITLESS EVEN IF THIS MIGHT BE THE KEY EVIDENCE.
