Justice Gonzalez reappointed to ease work load
At yesterday’s sitting of the Senate, sixty-six year old Supreme Court Judge John Troadio Gonzalez was reappointed to the bench for a one year term. Gonzalez retired earlier this year but with a voluminous calendar of overdue criminal and civil case files, he was brought out of retirement. His appointment is retroactive to September first 2008 and will expire on August thirty-first, 2009. During his career, Justice Gonzalez has served as acting Chief Justice, Chief Magistrate and as the Director of Public Prosecutions.
