“Big Thug” captured and charged for murder

After four days on the run, police captured wanted fugitive Raymond Meyers, aka “Big Thug” at his home on Cedar Street. Today, he was escorted to the Belize City Magistrates’ Court where he appeared before Senior Magistrate, Sharon Frazer. He was read a single charge of murder in the stabbing death of Francis Figueroa on Friday night. It is reported that the stabbing, which occurred on Vernon Street after an altercation with Meyers, was witnessed by a police officer who was nearby but by the time the officer reached the scene of the crime in front of the Royal Wholesale store, Figueroa had quickly moved to a nearby stairway. The murder victim was employed at Royal Wholesale and was going to buy food when he was viciously stabbed. Meyers is due back in court on June twenty-fourth.
Many of these idiots seem to run home and hide out there after they commit crimes, not the first time i read where criminals were captured home.
What happened, don’t the police raid homes, look under beds, tables when they go looking for criminals.

I applauded the efforts being made to bring curfew on the streets of Belize. But if we do not fix our current problem with criminals being punish for their crimes nothing would help. For example what charges will Big thug get for his crime, he intent to kill an innocent victim if he was to be hang for his crime it would show criminals that we cannot just take a life. Would our young and upcoming gangmembers get it yes. Because they wouldn’t want it to happen to them. Activist and goverment need to sent a strong message to criminals if not we will never be safe to walk the streets of Belize.

Hang him! They need to be killed. They are not worth put ting in jail only to be release to kill some other innocent person

This is another reason why we need to bring back hanging in our country. If we need permission from the Privy Council to hang these jack-a–es and they won’t let us hang them, then GOB need to invite members of the Privy Council to Belize, give them free bording & lodging in the Yea Brough area and a few grand tour around George Street area by foot for a month. Maybe they will get the message. Our people are crying for help and grieving on a daily basis, soh damn the Privy Council and dem ra-s since we noh intelligent enough fi mek legal decisions da wi court house. i tink that they have to STOP giving them food cuz is the tax payers money is going down the drain, only if there family take food for them make them eat and drink water and so the problem will start get solve….!!
