B.D.F. still looking for missing batch of grenades

Lt. Col David Jones

Lieutenant David Jones, the B.D.F. Bomb Expert, gave an update on the search to find the batch of missing grenades. The deadly explosives went missing from a British shipment in 2004 and since then eight of the twenty-four grenades have surfaced on the streets, adding to the fear of residents about the state of violence. Unfortunately, as Jones says, the B.D.F. has come up empty handed in their search.

Lt. Col. David Jones, B.D.F. Bomb Expert

“There are still investigations going on about the grenades. We’ve tried countless different efforts. We’ve done searches, we’ve done raids and apparently these grenades are hidden. They are probably hidden somewhere—not in someone’s house because the information we received on the persons we believe to have these grenades, we have not been able to successfully find anything. So as far as we are concerned those grenades are still out there somewhere.”

Try the “GUNS/WEAPONS FOR CASH NO QUESTIONS ASKED” approach. If enough monies can be allocated to sponsor this campaign, and make it a reality….Together with the GOB and church and/or school officials, and every Belizean citizen, we can get the grenades and other deadly weapons off the streets of Belize!!!!

Weapons for Cash? Why not just hand out cash to everyone on the streets? That approach will not work, as with the Amnesty, the only weapons handed in were those that either didn’t work, or were cast away in favour of a better or trendier weapon. (Just like Cellphones). They’ll get paid for getting rid of weapons that they don’t want anyway? Also ban carrying machetes in public, and outlaw knoves over 4.5 inches long. (Same penalties for those who are caught in possession of outlawed offensive weapons as those with guns & ammo). If a machete is needed for work, then it should be sheathed.

Declare a National Emergency, Search houses, and abandoned properties, Stop & Search pedestrians, bike riders and cars – 24/7, and impose a minimum 10 year sentence – No Parole – for anyone caught in possession of unlicenced weapons or ammunition.

Improve the DPP, Forensics, police training and judicial system to increase the conviction rate from the pathetic 7% that is stands now.

Introduce Conscription – Youths, unless they are in full time employment, college or university (UoB only – foreign universities should not be included, as the rich kids must be included) should be forced to serve 18 months in either the BDF or Coastguard. This way they will be off the streets, employed, and taught self-discipline

Make jail-time hard labour, which will improve the nations infrastructure – road repairs etc. If the inmate refuses to work, the prison reduces their ration.

Make Murderers meet the families of thier victims, and have them explain to the families why he took the vicitms life, and apologise. Let them see directly what their cowardly act has done. Also impose massive fines to convicted murders, in addition to long sentences, and that money be passed on to the victims families and fund a victims support programme. Make them pay for their crimes, not by killing them, but by making the rest of their lives so miserable that they’ll wish they were dead!

That might cool the heals of these cowards & thugs.

daveyt, love reading your short essay. Im sure that you have so much ideas and too short of a space to write. This blog is awsome i can see that there are people out there who share the same ideas as i do, we have the same solutions.
